That lone walker,
on that deserted
sidewalk.
In that drab coat,
and those worn out
sandals.
The sidewalk
chalk,
speaks of symbols.
The sun reaches down,
to breach the clouds.
The jewelry, the old
photos, trinkets...
in the shallow waters.
Water drips down,
on the faces,
covered in stone.
Boulders shift under the feet,
the sidewalks...
is a distant memory.
The sun beats down,
the sweat drips.
Like the water coming from
the rocks,
leaking into the foundation.
Story books, text books,
lost in the murky waters,
left in an old house.
The boulders are sinking
under the feet,
under the earth.
Walking horizontal
on the flat surface,
the sun is closer...
then ever.
When it reaches down,
gives me a kiss,
I melt,
The water evaporated.
Feet still moving,
under the sun,
but soon...
The black emerges and I am reformed,
and put to stone.
The pale moon over my shoulder.
