Bedtime

Flick the light,
takes a while,
There lies the frozen slab,
Tip toe, over the quick sand
Rug...
Creak, crack, Thud!
I lean back,
and fall onto the spiked
slab...

Squirm, twist, and shout!
Crack!
The spine and the back,
bugs squirm... Insects crawl,
all over my fragile skin...
Worms eat my back,
Struggling...
As I
writhe more through the night.
The covers I hold melt
to my skin,
but provide my only comfort,
from this torturous slab,
oh how I twist and turn...

The moon is bright,
I move, and turn,
crack, creak, slam, in the night,
I scream,
“Oh let me slip away into a
dream!”
