Sentenced go on

Pinching the tension,
buttering our lives content,
with buffoons on veins
living on the moon
held up with balloons.
You know her arms can’t hold
the sun much longer.

Creasing sunlight,
all that light in your eyes,
shadow hands joining
us in picnic,
joining me in patty cake.

And we saw that road vanish
under snow,
quilted blankets of snow,
and were always in one place...standing still.

Sitting with your very own casket.
Kneading the earth, and singing with
the crickets, never realize the earth turned so fast
the years zip by and leave no trace.
